*Guest: Sam Tam, President of the Canada Vaping Association - In July, when the B.C. provincial government enacted new rules and regulations governing the sale of vaping products in the province, it gave retailers until September 15 to sell off non-compliant product and adjust inventories to meet the new B.C. (specific) packaging and device specifications.
With the deadline only days away, the industry is waiting for the B.C. provincial government to provide critical clarifications that promise to ease compliance burdens and to harmonize the new rules with existing federal government regulations under the TVPA.
In this episode of RegWatch, we are joined by Sam Tam, President of the Canadian Vaping Association to discuss what the industry needs in order to navigate the new regulatory environment and to learn what critical clarifications the province has indicated it might deliver before the deadline.

*Guests: Tristan Thompson and Sherwin Mena, United Vapers Alliance
For the second time in less than a year, vapers are set to descend on Washington, DC to call on President Trump to intervene and put a stop to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s industry killing Premarket Tobacco Application Process.
The rally is scheduled for September 5th, just 4-days before the PMTA deadline and organizers hope a strong showing by advocates and grassroots vapers will pressure politicians to “do the right thing” and support flavored vaping products as a tool for harm reduction.
In this episode of RegWatch we are joined by Tristan Thompson and Sherwin Mena from the United Vapers Alliance. Hear the plans for the coming rally, learn how you can make a difference, and ask the organizers questions in advance of the big day.

E320 - PMTA PURGE | SHOT IN THE DARK, HOPE FOR THE BEST | REGWATCH (LIVE)
Monday Aug 03, 2020
Monday Aug 03, 2020
*Guest: Amanda Wheeler, National Vaping advocate
For the U.S. vaping industry, the past 12-months have been horrific. Countless vaping product retailers and many e-liquid manufacturers have shuttered operations in the wake of the so-called epidemic of teen vaping, the CDC’s outright deception over the so-called vaping-related lung illness and following the economic destruction resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
Now with just a little over a month left to meet the final deadline for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Premarket Tobacco Product Application process; the U.S. vaping industry is bracing for yet another purge, which could destroy vaping as we know it in America.
In this episode of RegWatch we are joined by Amanda Wheeler, President of the Rocky Mountain Smoke Free Alliance and Executive Director of the Arizona Smoke Free Business Alliance. Advocating on behalf of small manufacturers of non-cartridge ENDS products, Wheeler has been in direct discussion with officials at the United States Department of Health & Human Services, FDA and the Trump White House.
Learn details of the proposed plan to immediately establish an alternative “streamlined” PMTA pathway for small businesses selling non-cartridge ENDS. Hear what the response has been from HHS, FDA and the White House. And find out why Wheeler believes, that while “it’s a shot in the dark,” the industry should still “hope for the best.”

*Guest: Dave Bryans, CEO of the Ontario Convenience Stores Association
Caught between big tobacco and big government is how Dave Bryans, CEO of the Ontario Convenience Stores Association, describes the predicament that family-run convenience stores face in Ontario as a result of the upheaval over the so-called youth vaping epidemic.
OCSA’s membership totals over 3,000 independently run C-Stores in Ontario and the association advocates on behalf of the entire sector of 6,000 family-run stores.
In this episode of RegWatch learn about the pressure tactics which Bryans says big tobacco is using to maneuverer around the quickly changing regulatory environment and find out how new restrictions on the sale of vaping products represent a lost opportunity to communicate the virtues of vaping as an alternative to smoking.
